Welcome!

If you are a young man between 11 and 18, stop by and pay us a visit. Troop 73 would be honored to have you join our ranks.

Are you interested in camping, hiking, canoeing, fishing and backpacking; these along with over 100 other possibilities can be yours while involved in Scouting.  We normally meet at the youth hut or the fellowship hall of Inman United Methodist Church on the first and third Tuesday evening at 7:00pm.

Some of our trips have included backpacking the Appalachian Trail, Summer Camp at Camp Lumpkin in LaGrange GA, riding a half-mile zip line at Banning Mills, snow skiing in West Virginia; canoeing on the Flint River, conquering the obstacle course and jumping from the Airborne tower at Ft Benning, canoeing in the Ockefenokee Swamps; and hiking in Tallulah Gorge.  All of this while learning to work as a team, cook for yourself and others, survive in the wilderness and even provide first aid.

Troop 73 was chartered to Inman United Methodist Church in 1991.  We have been a vital part of the community ever since.  Teaching the young men of Fayette County the values of Scouting, good moral character, physical fitness, service to the community and responsible leadership skills that they continue to use in daily life.

Youth Protection Training Update

Posted on Jul 8 2010 - 11:24am

Youth safety is the No. 1 concern of the BSA.

To increase awareness of this societal problem and to create even greater barriers to abuse than already exist today in Scouting, the Boy Scouts of America is implementing several important changes to further enhance its Youth Protection policies.
